if Salah breaks his leg Origi is his replacement.
if Auba gets injured its Lacazette or Pepe.
if Vardy gets injured its Iheancho or Perez.
Every club has this problem apart from City, we've managed to sign 3 genuine quality players while getting rid of nobody, We're probably pushing the limits as it is.
Leicester are a completely different side for the worse if vardy gets injured or even has a goal drought. His replacements don’t do much for the way they place.

I know mate but until we do we aren’t challenging in my opinion for Europe.

All entitled to our opinions but that how I see it currently.

tbh... I just hope the full picture doesn’t take so long we dont have James with us and we still mucking around in other positions...

Selling quick instead of running down contracts would speed that up

Problem is i reckon we may just have to be patient and wait for a lot of these guys contracts to just expire unless we are willing to accept very low fees for them otherwise i just don't see other clubs coming in for a lot of them, they just ain't good enough at the end of the day.

Exactly so these ain’t good enough players will have to fill in for our good player.

That’s the point a few are making this squad as a whole ain’t getting Europe.

Precisely, injuries will determine our season IMO.

If we lose any key players we are utterly goosed sadly.
If any team lost their 3 best players they’d struggle.

take salah, vvd and Allison out
KDB, Sterling and Laporte out
Fernandes, Pogba, rashford
Aubamayang, lacazette, Gabriel
kane, son, dele
Werner, Silva, kante

all would struggle. some have deeper squads than others but any team would find a major injury crisis hard. As spurs found last year. And that’s just the top teams.

the teams below that would *really* struggle. We are going to compete for 7th. Lucky with injuries and we’ll compete higher. A few more signings and we’ll be even stronger

plus we have a world class manager.

we’ll be sound. Enjoy it.

I still think some people don’t realise just how bad we were last season. There is a case to put forward, that the quality of players we have brought in, will bring out the best of those around them. However it is also naive to suggest that one fantastic win at spurs somehow makes this squad capable of challenging for the top 6. We still need more quality at centre half, full back and a winger in my opinion to challenge for Europe. We might have to wait until the end of the window to get those reinforcements (when some of the deadwood is cleared out) but seeing the quality Ancelloti has brought to the club with HIS signings, I have every confidence in him recruiting well for the rest of the window. We just have to be patient.

I think like this as well. I do hope that there will be an improvement in at least some of the players that don't move on, if we have any hopes of top six we depend on that too.

Sigurdsson and Gomes for example, surely there are more goals in both of them. I'd bet that Sig should get 6-8 goals even spending most of the season from the bench this year and surely Gomes is capable of 5 or 6 as well.

If that happens and James gets into double figures then that's an enormous improvement and we should be at least in the mix for a top six place with 8 games to go. That's what I'm looking for.

Another player or two in would add to the depth and make hopes of top six more realistic as well

What?

Hold on we suddenly aren’t going to win the euro millions are we?

As it stands injuries to any key players = vastly under qualified understudy taking over.

Can you honestly think Tom Davies or Theo Walcott can step in and perform to a high level?

Never said they would but what do you propose? Does it sound like we've got millions down the back of the sofa for better quality subs?

Problem is i reckon we may just have to be patient and wait for a lot of these guys contracts to just expire unless we are willing to accept very low fees for them otherwise i just don't see other clubs coming in for a lot of them, they just ain't good enough at the end of the day.

it’s a hell of a problem.. are they really that bad or unaffordable? But yep... it seems like we have to run them down and that is a huge problem
