I suppose at the very top end the transfers between clubs with bottomless pockets could remain large and that might trickle down to an extent - but you have to imagine in the next tier clubs will have to reign in spending for now.

It doesn't bode well for our outgoings - perhaps we'll be funding excess wages to make them more attractive.

Even the top clubs all across Europe are struggling financially

I will never understand why you would have a medical for a team until you are going to sign for them. Just so many things could(/did) go wrong in between.


And, let's be honest, he didn't go to Arsenal because he thought "MAN! ARSENAL want ME!", he went there because they paid him a ton of money. Just like we would have.

Even so he still picks up alot of niggles which means he cant be relied upon to stay fit most of the season.
