footballers aren’t bought on stats solely though are they?

Not discrediting What you do and you clearly are very successful but how about adaptation to the league?

We need winners not just players who look good on a graph.

Iwobi is one of them, would you have him in trenches, but he does pass the ball into the box more than anyone else.
What I find strange is, and no criticism of you, during the Dunc stint, Iwobi in the games he played ran his absolute balls off.

I find him an excitable player, lacking composure at times. But it's clear he has some quality and he has a really good work ethic.

He's one to keep, for sure.

I have:

Reinier -- new player
Militao -- 10 starts + 2 sub (2 games since mid jan)
Rodrygo -- 11 starts + 6 sub (2 games since mid jan)
Vinicius -- 12 starts + 15 sub (9 games since mid jan)

They need to remove one on loan/sale as it is + if they want to sign another non-EU player they have to shift two players.

bit misleading. How many games have there been since mid January? I count 11. Could be 12 if you include the jan 18th fixture.

Probably unfair to single him out because not every player or every winning team is Sergio Ramos, Roy Keane.

I just making the point we do lack characters.

I didn’t want Delph but I made peace with it thinking he would bring the winning attitude.... I was wrong there

Stats are pretty good at narrowing the field and there is definitely a tie-up between the output (as reported in the stats) and the performances.

We then watch the video and look at the physical and off the ball stuff stats don't show and that is important too.

On Iwobi I do like him but he is probably another signing that doesn't really have a set position. I see him doing the Pienaar role for us next year, sort of left midfield and linking the play. He is a great passer and finds space really well and I think we sort central midfield, and get more control on games, he'll get more chances to show it.

I think he needs to start being more productive, his assists need to increase and he’s got to start chipping in with goals.

he got off to a good start and I thought the change of scenery as with that Chamberlin at those lot was going to push him on.... still to see that yet but we will see.

Very ordinary indeed. However it's a bit dramatic to label him based off a penalty miss. Penalties get missed, they just do. Richarlison missed a penalty doing a stupid run up last season, not held against him is it now?.

Cenk is a very, very average player, he does have a good strike on him but he's way to slow with his feet on the ball and too slow movement too.
Tosun is a good striker and has decent ability he's just not the athlete needed to be effective in the PL.
Shame he got hurt when he did. Think he would've done at Palace and been bought

...I agree, even the best miss penalties but this was so vital for the team in the late stages of a major cup competition. I’m convinced Tosun had no thoughts as to where he was going to put that shot, he just did nothing with it. No power, no direction, no concentration, no determination.

Richarlison was cocky and stupid but at least he had a thought of what he wanted to do even if the execution was woeful. He cost us that day, but he’s bailed us out so often.

The Leicester penalty was a major opportunity for Tosun but he failed miserably. it said lots about him. He shouldn’t have given Pickford the time of day, he should’ve only had his penalty on his mind. ‘If it is to be it is up to me’.

How is it misleading?

Rodrygo + Militao have been involved in 2 games each since Mid Jan and Vinicius 9 games.

Not sure how thats misleading?

To be fair I think we just "Everton that" with Tosun's penalty as I believe he'd scored like 27 out of 28 before that haha.

...fascinating, I didn’t know that. It makes it even worst. Saying that, it wasn’t so much the miss, it was the manner of the miss.

Mate I hate all the theatrics of penalties, walk up, place the ball, smash it please. However I can't hold any personal grudge for a missed pen. It is what it is, which is why I love Richarlison regardless of his stupid run up and think Cenk is pretty average regardless of his pen.

You are right though, there was a bit of "It just wont work for him here" about it though.
