It is not ideal but in the circumstances the 2-2 will do. I will be amazed if we finish in that position however.

Gueye did indeed impress! He should get more game time. Less impressed with Vellios and his ugly chin hair. Dude - shave it.
Who was supposed to be covering Downing though? He practically stampeded through our squad. Was it Baines? I know he was on that side. This guy was everywhere against us and kept exposing us. It's almost like since we don't have a winger we didn't know what to do with him.

Yeah that was a real bonehead move by Howard. That was one of the best overall matches I've seen this season, however.
Agreed. Gueye was a breath of fresh air. Certainly needs polish and experience but christ, play him for the corners alone. Very much intrigued by his performance Saturday.

Watched it tape delayed yesterday so just a few quick observations:
1) Howard. Why are you coming out that early on Bent? Give your defender a chance.
2) Gueye. I expect we'll see more of him. What a performance !!!
3) Billy. A bit of a rough game but came through with some passes when it mattered. Looks like he hasn't played much (which he hasn't) and is still adjusting to the pace and mental speed of play.
I thought that the draw was a fair result. Beckford's goal was a goal but Jags penalty wasn't a penalty. Looked like he left his feet out waiting for contact. Makoun had to feel very aggrieved at that call as I've seen worse not given.
Vellios impressed in his short stint. Osman was everywhere and did well (except for some of his finishing.) Solid game from Hibbert and Distin.

Thank you! And it was Bily on Downing. Figures. He only beat his marker once?!?!?! Yikes. I love Distin, but he did live up to TX Bill's comment about him - one bonehead move a game, hopefully it's not punished.
I still marvel at his speed though! (And still think he's player of the season behind Baines).

Had a great time at the match really wanted that W though. Villa-everton matches are always tight with alot of goals (the 1st match was a fluke). Actually from my point of view I thought it was a clear cut penalty and that Beckford's shot didn't cross the line. Was too busy watching the match but I got some good pre and post pictures of the scene which I will post when I get back.
Ossie was everywhere, pity the finishing because on another day he could have had 4. Maybe the secret is to put him on ice for the 1st 4-5 months of the season because he was the only player on the pitch who looked fresh. He's been our best player for over a month now.
Besides the two cheap goals Sadly the one player who never my line of sight was Billy. It was indescribeable how awful he was. You really had to see it in person to appriciate the ineptness.
I so thought Hibbert was going to score and/or set one up. They would have had to cancell the match.
The two newbies look like they had a good future with us.
Its funny now that I've been to goodison other than the capacity and the limited view seats I can't see why it so badly needs replaced.
Increase in revenues etc.
Although if they managed to re-design the seating to get rid of the aforementioned pillars then i wouldn't be too fussed, i love Goodison itself and how closed in it feels compared to some modern stadiums.
He was very poor but considering the team we had out against their quality it was a good result and just shows what a great manager moyes is.Osman has been excellant of late and to be fair hibbert played very well.
