Our strength being up top, coupled with our midfield limitations, more or less forces it.

To be fair to Benitez, the counterattacking plan worked fine until the injuries started to mount. No end product up top is just dispiriting when you're a defender. It's maddening to do the hard work to get the stupid ball back, then have the midfield or attack squander it yet again.

Nah just a stain that man. Shouldn’t even be mentioned in the history books. Onwards now.

Just nice to see us not crumble when it went to 2-1, went forward and pressured them again and beat them convincingly in the end.

Won't get too carried away but it's nice to see some decent football and players looking like they know what they're doing.

Gomes MOTM for me today. The flow of our play went through him today. Allan was good to as well as Gordon. Still perilous at the back but let's enjoy this and focus on Tuesday as that invariably is the one to get our season back on track.
