.....I'm looking for blend so I'm thinking players who compliment each other. Kenny/Lookman, you have to accept Lookman will loose possession at times but they will provide a threat.
I'm not happy with Holgate at CB but needs must.
Baines/Rooney- to pinch a phrase, cerebral footballers. Late on yesterday, Rooney drilled two delightful passes from left side. I just think he and Baines might be on the same wavelength. It's about blend. It's about effective partnerships. By the way, Rooney will go missing, putting fires out elsewhere because the game matters to him but that's ok out there.
Schneiderlin/Vlasic - I don't know, but Vlasic could be Barkley with knobs on. He's a fine runner with a football, can go past people and pick a pass. He can also finish. This partnership is a shot in the dark. We might lack defensively but Vlasic is a runner who could make the link to the attacking third from defence.
DCL/Sigurdsson - a forward axis down the middle. Sigurdsson demonstrated in the last 20 mins that this is his position. DCL leads the line, he's a way out if the full backs need to go long. Last night, Kenny and Baines had to pass sideways or backwards because they had no one to hit.
That would be my team. A team based on partnerships. It might not work but it has a strategy. It would be better if Keane was available, Burnley will be a threat but going the other way I just think we'd be better than them.

..need a balance MG. no problem with Besic instead of Holgate, decent shout is that. No player to link with Baines. Sigurdsson playing in fresh air, your system isn't for me. We seriously need to play footballers where they are most effective.
