Not a single shot on target and people are happy. Unreal.

IT is obviously great to see the defence so improved and a lot more commitment around the pitch. Several probable first picks out too so no case for going toe to toe with them and inviting a battering. But surely a bit more of a go from about 80 mins was possible. Not gung Ho but at least a bit of a go. West Ham beat Chelsea two weeks ago!!!

I don't think it's happiness but rather being content with the result, what it symbolises and our overall improvement in the past month or so.

There's lots of things which we must improve, which Sam has clearly mentioned to the media, so hopefully that'll come in the next few weeks.

As I mentioned in another thread, if we'd had played this game a month or two ago then we'd have expected a tonking - there's the positive!

Not happy, more pragmatic.

I was calling the performance embarrassing

it wasn't embarrassing though - it was required

defensively we were superb and their nearest chance came around through a Williams header.

Offensively we were poor, and that needs to improve. But losing Gana didn't help and in the second half Sam did set up to be more offensive, but Sandro couldn't get into the game.

If no shots on target is required at home best we smash teams away hahahaha

Last season when we were thoroughly dominated by City and nicked a draw I was critical. Chelsea put 5 on us with the same tactics and I fumed even more.

Guess it's all relative though. After the mauling Soton gave us I actually thought this was gonna be a long, tough, and stressful season.

Fast forward to today...we were thoroughly dominated by Chelsea but kept a clean sheet. NEA I will take it based on where we were going a few weeks ago. 0 shots on target? Sure we were awful...but it's a point that we would not have won a few weeks ago.

Baby steps.

Carnt see Sam staying passed the summer mate , the board are on the right track off the field now carnt see moshiri stoping with Sam can see him here just to stabilise and move the team up the table faster

Given that Moshiri seemed to let Koeman write his own contract and was prepared to pay Watford gazillions to take their bloke, I am not entirely filled with confidence about the prospect of letting him hunt another manager.

The manager after Sam needs to be headhunted by a professional football man.

Anyway, Sam is doing a splendid job right now and I am not looking toward the next appointment and do not expect to be doing so any time soon (soon being before the end of next season).

If Moyes had delivered that unambitious plop today he'd have been massacred on here and rightly so.

Yes, and if Sam is delivering it after eleven years in charge, or even eleven months in charge, he would be being massacred as well.

As it happens he has been here less than a month and already our position is transformed.

Cheer the heck up and enjoy Christmas with Everton in the top half of the table :pint2:
