our options are really limited sadly given the injuries, People don't like Davies so whats the alternative? It's guaranteed that Morgan or Gylfi is playing.

I'm OK with one of the axis of doom starting if we have no choice.

But not both.

I'd have anyone from the under 23s in instead of playing Sigurdsson and Schneiderlin in the same side, and I'd certainly have Davies in.

I'd have gone with Schneiderlin and Davies as two defensive mids with Davies a bit of licence to get forward, with Kean up front, Iwobi the number 10, Richarlison and Bernard either side. Try and get in behind them with a bit of pace.

But instead we've gone with the Icelandic ghost and the most ineffectual striker the world has ever seen.

Worrying team but to be expected with no Delph, Gomes, Gbamin and Mina.

The summer window looking more and more weird as far as our business went.

No way you can expect long term injuries to all 3 of your first choice centre-mids. I don't think Silva wanted Delph - terrible injury record but bought by Brands to address a lack of leadership and winners in the dressing room - hasnt worked! Silva wanted Doucoure alongside Gbamin with Gomes pushing on. Doucoure hasn't turned up for Watford this season, which makes me think he wanted the move. I don't think we would be where we are now with that axis fit and together since day 1.

....reinforces the view that Kean is not producing what’s expected. I’m also not in the least surprised by Schneiderlin’s inclusion. Defensively we have nobody who can run so we need a player who sits in front of the back four, sadly Schneiderlin is the only one we have who does that.

I thought Kean showed a bit of substance on Wednesday, surely worthy of a start in my opinion.
