Same approach as Newcastle dont give them much respect, start quickly, get Goodison rocking early.

In the (non corrupt league) were above them so they should be worried about coming here not us worrying about them.

After the last two games, and even the Utd game where we had our chances, I have a feeling the chances will start to get converted. Our defence gives me the most confidence I've had in it for many a year. Not saying we'll definitely win, but it will take a good performance to beat us.
Leaving in 10 for third visit in 7 days....Newcastle, Chelsea and a Goodison tour this Wednesday.

Enjoy today's game and the tour mate.

Both teams have been very Jekyll and Hyde. Which Everton shows up? The one that has taken 13 from 18 with a mauling of Burnley sandwiched in, or the one that capitulated at home to United and away to Mordor?

Which Chelsea shows up? The one that lost at Old Trafford and was blasted out of Newcastle, or the one that thumped Tottenham away?

I would give us the edge on getting the win, but a draw is the most likely outcome. It is the likely result if both 'good' or 'bad' sides show up to this fixture.

I would actually say we have been pretty consistent a lot of the season, myself. We have just not got what we deserved. i see some say we played bad v man utd, but in reality, we had way more shots, should have scored at least 2 and the 1st 2 goals were obviously their only 2 shots on target

We're more than a little finishing-challenged throughout the squad. Part of the problem in the United fixture was the wonder goal right off the bat, which forced us to open up more than we would like. We could say that they were lucky and we were not (they're the other club with a big deficit between xG and goals for) in that fixture, which is true, but it's also the case that we're creating like a top-half side and slotting like a bottom-half one. Over the better part of half a season, that's not just luck, though the odds are there will be some reversion towards the mean.

Chelsea's problem is more whether they find a way to hork up bad goals. They're a classic scores-a-lot, concedes-a-lot midtable side that draws too often to finish in the European places.

If Evertoning has thought us anything (and reading through this, it hasn’t) it’s that daring to express any whiff of positivity opens the door for the footballing gods to put us all back into our box of deep despair and on the verge of hopelessness before dragging us back in with an unexpected win and round and round we go

I think a good idea would be to filter any positive comments on the run up to a game that we may think we have 3 points that are there for the taking. It works for the bad language and would help keep our expectations low and therefore keep the disappointment factor down when we do mess it up.
