Staring a monumental drubbing off City midweek and ffs we know what's happening next Saturday.

I was there that day when a 2nd division Fulham beat us in the cup in 75, with 2 goals by Viv Busby. The only things I can remember about that day was Busbys goal scoring celebrations, their goalie having white hair and how bad I felt afterwards. But I think this is worse.

Bizarre attacks from fans on an injured player. Have seen James play well for Everton in cold, in rain, when getting kicked on - and it's sad to see Everton fans recycling these stereotype based comments.

Same people were slagging off the team at half time at Old Trafford and then going silent a few minutes into second half.

James couldn't influence the game tonight (at all), but he put in a shift in the first half, starting attacks from midfield winning back the ball on a several occasions (Coleman's run at goal came off a proper two footed tackle James got stuck into in midfield - coincidentally the only sign of blood flowing through veins in the team for those 45 minutes). The game plan just didn't work - for anyone - I thought Holgate was worst on the field in Blue, personally.

He got a knock at the start of second half and you could see him limping, then came up hurt a few minutes later on the pile up tackle - looked more like he aggravated the earlier injury than an opponent injuring him). As Sassy said, hope it doesn't keep him off field for too long - these calf injuries have been a problem for him.

Playing the blame game is always easy for some people here but the truth is that the whole team played awful tonight, we couldn't create opportunities, our defense didn't perform well either, we just allowed ourselves to be run over by an inferior team that look very superior than us throughout the whole game.

Yep. Really weird. And taking in Keane when the midfield was the problem even more weird. Take of Rodriguez bring in Iwobi and take of Gomez and bring in ....

It was quite embarrassing watching Sigurdsson get brushed off the ball with complete way ease for their second, then not bother to track back and try to win back the ball.

Dare I say we missed Iwobi.
Our midfield cannot dominate games and they allow the opposition to dictate. Is this a tactic to play so deep and be dictated to or is it just that we really don't have energy and guile in the midfield. I honestly cannot say anyone played well and Holgate and Godfrey looked horrendous and green as CBs.
We need Godfrey as our right back now and leave Keane and Mina as CBs. At least Mina takes the ball forward. Digne looked goosed and was ineffective and Doucoure seemed to be patrolling our right hand side when we needed him central to drive us on. Too many tweaks because it was only Fulham

Yup we needed someone out wide who can carry the ball like Iwobi. Can’t understand Sigurdsson and James both playing. No balance.
