Remember when we were all debating how toxic the fans at goodison were...
They can be though and they compound games like today. Few games being crap with no fans doesn't change that mate. Our season overall has been good for what we have at our disposal + injuries/ suspensions. A handful of games have been dire not like the whole season has. Are you one of the moaners and groaners at Goodison mate?

Is there a team in the prem who pass the ball backwards more than us? I'm not convinced there is.

I know it sounds ridiculous Lou, but even having Holgate on the left hand side of the 2 centre halves done my head in.....Godfrey is comfortable on that left side whereas Holgate just wants to turn back. I immediately thought that was a real piss poor set up by us defensively.

Do you really enjoy watching us get dominated literally every game though, serious question? We didn’t even dominate Rotherham.
I find us hard to watch at times. We like to sit back, be organised, and play on the break.

But yes, this season I have thoroughly enjoyed watching Everton, because when we do play, no team can live with us. There are spells in games when we look a little passive, but then there are spells in games when I genuinely think it’s like watching a high class European outfit.

I actually turned the box off at 25 mins today because it was clear to see the pattern of the game- so my fume levels are probably a bit more manageable rn.

But I’m not about to pretend that we’re crap, play crap football, and are sure to plummet down the league. This season has got me loving Everton again, rather than just enduring us, and I have real hope for the future.

Grow the hell up...

It’s been obvious since football started being played behind closed doors that without the fans there the players can’t raise their game at home. They play without pressure and not in a good way. I’ve sat through games like today at goodison before and if it had been a one off then the tiredness excuse may wash but that is 3 league games in a row where we haven’t looked like even competing with the other team in our own stadium... CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP

That’s fair enough, and in part I do agree, but surely it has to be a worry that we cannot keep up performance levels even within isolated games. We haven’t won a game by 2 since December in the league, and before that we hadn’t won by 2 since October in the league. Is it a case that Allan is that important that we literally cannot play expansive football without him? As if it is, that’s a big, big problem

No chance that the players would put in those lethargic performances against Newcastle and Fulham with the crowd there. Davies would win a tackle, everyone would roar, and the players would get their arses into gear. I think Richarlison struggles the most without fans to feed off.

Man of the matchdigne as only one who looked to be out of first gear and running himself into the ground.
Cant win a football match strolling around the pitch playing at a snails pace.
Why did we defend so deep today? Gave them the whole pitch to play bad tactics today. Disappointing to watch us lose these games at home against crap teams making them look like world beaters.

I mean he has been a vital addition to the side. He has the mentality we need - just as intense and hard working against big teams as those in the relegation battle.

That comes from desire, but also humility. I don’t think we have recruited enough like him and yes, he is a massive miss in all games, but especially in games like today
