My theory behind leaving Gordon out @Joey66 is that he is at his most effective running hard at the opposition. that also happens to be Bielsa's stock in trade so horses for courses. Having someone like Dele in there who (to me the poor mans James) has that little bit of magic will defeat the hell for leather leeds.
The team I selected does lack width and crosses and we have seen DCL wither without it (U2 song?) but Dele and VDB can offer more in through balls. Like I said picking a team from our dross to face a team that plays the way Leeds do is difficult.

That's the team I'd go with. A bit of pace on the flanks.

Know what you’re saying, but who’s he going to play in there? Allan and VdB the only 2 servicable centre mids that are fit. Alli is a #10 and not a centre mid but at a push would be the best option.

Maybe he will put allan, VDB and Gomes in midfield in the hopes of passing around Leed's running and pressing

All depends how Leeds play, if they're passive + let us play we've got a chance

But that's not how they play + every team in league knows all you've got to do to beat us is show some fight + aggression.

The difference between the Brentford game and the Newcastle game was the movement of players in forward positions. Players in possession had to go sideways or backwards as they had no movement in front of them. Hopefully DCL can provide a target and Richy and whoever is picked can provide outlets for the players in possession. I don't think I would pick both Deli and DvdB having two players looking to pass the ball forward seems to me to be an extravagance we can't afford. However having said that if we do play DvdB as a 10 which of our lot would you trust to help anchor midfield. I wonder what Pickford is like in midfield, he couldn't be much worse than what we have seen.

I know mate. There aren't many options though. I do think there's a danger he'll be getting plenty of minutes this season still
