Not quite the game that I was expecting last night. I would have taken a draw before the game, but it felt like we could have got more, and yet also felt like we were fortunate to get a point.

Appreciate that you had your 'screen' missing in AD and Allan, but I still expected a little more from you in the offensive. Very much felt like you were happy to protect a 1-0 and then happy to see out a draw, with the chance of grabbing a goal on the counter. Is that usual for Ancelotti, or a case of make do with the players he had at his disposal?

I also expected more of a threat from DCL and Richarlison. In the past it's felt like Richarlison has scored against on virtually every occasion and DCL is exactly the sort of player that we struggle against, but it felt like they weren't in the game for prolonged periods. Still, both had very good chances I guess!

As for ourselves, I was impressed with how we dealt with Ndidi's injury. This time last year we really struggled without him, including losing to Norwich, but we seem far more adaptable to Mendy coming in now. Perez did exactly what I expected in working hard but simply not being the player that Vardy is (not many are). He stood little to no chance being marshalled by your three either. On a side note, really impressive with how Keane has come on. In the past Vardy has run rings around him, but the past 2/3 games against you he's been completely dominant.

Still expect that we'll be around a similar position come the end of the season, and hopefully that's around 4th and not 7/8th.

tbh mate it went exactly how I thought it would (minus the howler)

Sit back, sit deep, let tou have the ball and see if you could break us down. Even more so once we got in front I thought we'd simply stifle the life out of you and you didn't have much up top.

I think once you equalised the game shifted again, we changed it up and really should have slotted at least one from Richarlison, DCL or Gomes, though I concede Maddison could also have won it for you. But pretty much once you scored we changed it up and I felt like we got a stranglehold of the game and looked the more dangerous.

Richarlison has been bloody dreadful for thr majority of the season so another poor performance from him wasn't much of a surprise. DCL was also awful, looked goosed from minute 1. But I think its right to praise Fofana who completely dominated him.

I'm hoping it ends up a good point for both sides but I can't help feeling we've thrown 2 away due to having an absolute donkey in goal when we have a more calmer assured keeper sitting on the bench.

Good luck for the rest of the season.

I don't see why it's so difficult to accept that another team played well?

Also,

That's poor defending, and poor goalkeeping.

Us conceding the goal was all that finally sparked us into life in the second half. It's fine sitting deep, but it is not okay to have no threat while doing so and up until the Leicester goal we didn't have that, unlike in the first half when we did have a threat.

We had key players out and didn't play at our best, and got a point. They had key players out and lost their best midfielder, and probably played well enough to deserve a point. The frustration is with how it comes, but we dust ourselves down and move onto the next one. ;) We'll see what happens with Olsen. I have a feeling he'd have been in anyway and this might have made up Carlo's mind, but again I'll stress, Pickford hasn't had anything like that in a while. He's generally looked a lot more assured and has been part of our good run in the league (Olsen has only played cup games remember, bar Newcastle). He's made an error and it's cost us - we know we need better but right now, there's nothing we can do about it until the summer.

Can say about Doucoure and Allan all we like, but they weren't there, so it's just how it goes.

Ive not doubted Leicester played well , but apart from one basic schoolboy error by Pickford they never looked like scoring. Can you recall a notable save from him throughout the game.
Do you not think the form of our defenders over the past couple of months has took most of the focus away from the keeper , its not like we come away from a game saying we'ed have lost that but for our keeper making so many save's.
Cant hide that fact or blame someone else for it.
He cost us a much needed win.

You do know that pressing higher up the pitch is how you leave gaps to exploit on the transition. It's not as simple or straightforward as people make out.

Yes Maddison could have scored but we defended it well. Keane is good at that sort of defending. But equally, Gomes should have scored and I expect DCL to score that header. I feel we could easily have won the game, but we didn't, Leicester will feel they could have won too. It's 2 fairly evenly matched teams and draws can happen in games like that.

I do know yes, every single tactic has a flaw, this is why it is a very good debate. There is always a counter argument.

What I am saying is that we should have been trying to push them back more by putting pressure on them, maybe not all go at once but when we dropped back it was everybody dropping back, when we started to press a bit more (in the last 10 minutes) we did win the ball back and got on the front foot straight away.

If we just put a bit more pressure on them then they make more mistakes, we start to build confidence. We were allowing them an attack vs defence scenario which allowed them to build in confidence. We could have won it at the end because they started to operate slightly higher up the pitch so it proves my point that we should have done that earlier.

One example was when James flung himself to block a cross/pass, we were not doing that in the earlier part of the 2nd half, in any way. We were stood off letting them play it around high up the pitch.

Its not as straight forward as that, but ok.
Agreed it’s not, but, we have a number 9 who is very good at holding the ball up in the channels yet opted not to play for that, instead we sat back snd hit balls straight at Dom when he was up against Jonny Evans and fofana, consequently, it just came straight back!
If you’re going to sit back snd defend for 70 minutes, yiu have to have an out ball that sticks, play in to the channels get the lads a bit of a breather

You got a pacey side that move through the lines quickly.

That is exactly why we gave you all the ball. I don't think we would match you toe-to-toe in a back and forth open match, so Carlo closed the match. reduced us to speculative long balls. its what most of us were expecting and its how we did it at the Kingpower too, and we almost did it again. 18 shots, but 5 at goal from your team.

Some mad shouts in here. We knew we were going to struggle against a really in form Leicester missing both of our best midfielders.

They are quite clearly ahead of us in their project and also started it from a better base, yet they’ve played us twice (both times we were missing multiple key players) and only came away with a point.

We aren’t going to play that negative every game. We allowed them to control us more than we or Carlo would’ve liked, but we try and match up to them yesterday with that midfield and we get a pasting. He got the tactics spot on imho and if not for a shot that should’ve been saved, they hardly looked like scoring.
