I would suggest that not losing tonight would be the key outcome so I expect Carlo to revert to the tight ship in the back four as he will be missing his protectors in front of them. Their midfield is likely the source of goals for them so its important we have some energy in there. I would therefore suggest not starting Gomes as he too often gets 'walked past'. Aside from playing Holgate in a holding role, Davies and Siggy would cover every blade as they say - Although the idea of those two makes me shudder somewhat. Perhaps playing Digne in Left mid offers some outlet from the back and allows James the switch play, as he loves. James, DCL and Richy are must starts so Carlo will have to brilliantly assemble the midfield jigsaw tonight.
A draw would be a good result, a win would be brilliant!

Anyone else want to see more of this tonight? It’s been a while.

I can't leave Godfrey out of the team, even if Digne is fit.

Pickford
Coleman - Keane - Mina - Digne
Davies - Godfey
James - Gomes - Rich
DCL

Or maybe a 3 at the back with Iwobi RWB and no Coleman

It would be harsh for him to drop Godfrey who’s done really well. I don’t think he will. I think we may see Richarlison start on the right with Digne starting on left like he did at Wolves. He will more than likely mix it up throughout the game.

If he plays Holgate in midfield, like he hinted, then Godfrey will likely move over to RB to accommodate Digne back in at LB. If Iwobi comes back in then one of Sigurdsson or Gomes would have to drop to bench to move James back

Win tonight and the table looks very promising indeed with our game(s) in hand. Carlo will do brilliantly to get that win though without a midfield. Got a bad feeling their quality in the middle of the park will be too much for Davies/Gomes. Will feel a lot more positive seeing Holgate or Godfrey in there for the legs. Come on you blue boys.

Big game tonight important we don't lose...

A win would be great but a draw would be ok providing we beat Newcastle on Saturday....

Would be suprised if we see Godfrey & Digne down the left and Holgate & Iwobi down the right to be able to go into a 5 at the back when out of possession, similar to the system and wolves and that could mean richarlison in the floating role. Might not be what were used to but would defiantly provide height for set pieces which on their forums seems there biggest concern. Hopeful for a win but need a good performance. games coming in quick succession now so he may opt in this more defensive system to opt for james of the bench in second half.

My team is Pickford, Holgate, Mina, Keane, Godfrey, Iwobi, Davies, Gomes, Digne, Richarlison, DCL.
2-1 win Mina and DCL

don’t like these talks of take a draw... honestly if we don’t back the team to play to win with James, DCL, Digne and Richy all back who will? Honestly anything less than a win I’ll be disappointed and take as a lost opportunity and a dent in our aspirations for top 4
