He's a beast. I never thought I'd say this, but I'm starting to wonder should we stick with him at left back and Digne at left wing.

Until that goal went in we were being taken to school. Maddison & Barnes waltzing through midfield. Can't see how we keep a clean sheet here. That said, the goal was fantastic and seemed to settle them down. I don't like to see DCL having to come out wide to try and get a ball.

Players are praised when they play well and criticised when they arnt.

Davies, Gomes, Iwobi get so much more stick than Richarlison

you can understand it with him though - imagine being the cock of the office, then turning up one day to find James, Carlo, DCL and Godfrey chatting the staff up

Gomes has looked very good so far. Richarlison has been very poor.

Would like to see us take more control of the game and create a bit more but that’s probably asking a lot with the players we have out.

Overall a good first half for us, we weathered their fast start in the first 15 minutes, which tends to be typical of a Rodgers side and then grew into it and they actually haven’t had much joy in front of goal. Granted we’re not creating a huge amount either, but so far it’s going like the away game in December. Could be needing some beta blockers in the second half mind

Holegate getting a bit of stick but he’s been pretty Good on that side. Only a nut Meg by Barnes has done him. He’s grown stronger as the game has gone on.

Godfrey's sheer athleticism at the back there has been crucial on a few occasions.
Not many players in the league can beat that Perez in a foot race, but he's done it a few times there and nullified his major threat.

Godfrey has been absolutely fantastic. First to every ball, every challenge, every 50/50, every sprint. He is setting the standard for others.

Tough first half separated by a world class strike from a world class player.

His attitude, as well as his overall effectiveness, is top class.
