A couple of years in the Championship will at least allow a massive clear-out of this hapless club.

Relegation would be a disaster. Impossible to offload high earning low performing players (unless contact reduces their wages following relegation - and they’re not playing like people who are worried by such a prospect). Need to replace most of the team with hungry professionals desperate to play in the Premier League but will be hard to do it.

I get the logic mate, I just don’t agree. I’ve said it a few times in different threads but if you look back at his career at this stage, the great form was the fluke and the woeful form is the norm.

Sad to say about a boy his age but he’s never getting that form back. Maybe if he drops down a level or two (with us, it looks like!) he might carve out a new career for himself there.
