sounds like it was utterly horrific to watch. Hopefully a few of that team will be gone by the end of the window, or january at the latest, i'd keep all the youngsters though, think we have good youngsters.

Besic made a case for the squad. Sandro and Klaasen not so much, although Sandro's set pieces are better than anyone else these days. If you slowed the game down and didn't use body strength (definition of Dutch league?), Klaasen would probably be decent. As the PL isn't like that, he goes. Williams wasn't bad, although I wouldn't be that sad if he was replaced.

Of the younger players, Kenny deserves a medal for showing well despite having the Croatian waste of space in front of him. Pennington is hardly youth any more but squad player in desperation, ideally transfer to a team such as Stoke or WBA. Connolly, didn't really set the world on fire but wasn't bad. Another loan? Robinson, can see there is a player in there but really lacks experience and judgement.

I thought Silva said Niasse is ‘in our plans’ rather than staying? ‘In our plans’ could be read as we are planning to use him as a makeweight in a deal?

Leftover emotions from last season. Would be nice not to see so many being pessimistic for the sake of being pessimistic.

I don't see much overreaction. The game and result don't matter in the slightest. People are just stating that some of the young players aren't ready and that lots of the dross need sold. We havent learned much. Just had what we all suspected confirmed.

So you haven't seen the posts suggesting that, on that performance, most of the squad needs binning? Specsavers for you on Monday it is then lollol

Most of the players that played tonight do need binning. I don't think that's an unreasonable view point. I don't see many of those who featured tonight playing much next season, nevermind actually contributing. None of them are starters realistically. We need to trim the squad. No one other than Besic did anything to catch the manager's eye. I expect lots of loans and a number of sales.
 
Looked like both teams were told to treat the match as a fitness exercise, no real energy or fight from either team tbh.

I'd be more worried if we went in with the first team at full throttle and put in that performance.
As it stands, it was a good training exercise and nothing more.

Deffo not worth 4 quid, mind :oops:
