There title challenge will be well and truly over 'till next season' after their next 3 fixtures, loss to us loss to City and then losing points to Sunderland asthey will be too knackered to press after only 2 days break

...question in today's racing post, which 5 players have the most Derby match appearances. I'll give the answer in a moment but it's 2 Everton and 3 Reds players.

Nev must be an Everton one. With *random player*, Mike Lyons?

Them lot; Rush, er, someone like Callaghan, and Phil Neal?

Without resorting to Mr. Google or reading any replies to the question I will go for Brian Labone and Neville Southall from EFC....I know Ted Sagar has more appearances than Labby but the RS had a spell in the second division as did we when he was playing.

For them?

Ian Callaghan for sure, I would say.

Slippy and Tommy Smith the other two?

...all from the 80s actually, Southall; Grobbelaar; Ratcliffe; Rush; and Hansen.

There ya go.....that really surprises me.

And they counting the likes of the Screen Sport Super Cup and Charity Shields in the totals, Eggs?

....doubt it includes Super Cup. Southall had over 40 appearances, the others over 30. Let's not forget they were top sides in the 80s, before that there was breaks for the war and the Reds in particular were not always top flight.
