He didn’t get within 5m of VVD. He was in the side to try and keep the big Nederlander from dictating the play and he did a really poor job of it. Even if you have limited skills you should be able to do the basics and put an opposition player under pressure, knock them about and make them rush their play. DCL did none of them today. I don’t like to criticise anyone in the RBJ (Mirallas could be an exception to that) but DCL showed today an din ten last few weeks that he’s got a long, long way to go if he’s to be anything more than a decent Championship player. Reminds me of Juktevic.
Wrong. Up against the best defender in the Prem, leading the line for a poor team, who have struggled with the basics of joined-up play for months now. I actually don't rate DCL but credit where it's due. You're talking about not letting VVD dictate play, but had we have played Richarlison or Tosun there I'm convinced we would have lost. And God knows he got sweet FA in terms of support from Walcott

Behave. The lad was poor. No spatial awareness at all of where the ball is going, where the defender is in relation to the ball or what’s on around him. He did two nice little flicks, very little else.

Picks got my nod - that save against Salah in the first half may yet remove the necessity of me going to Aruba for a couple of days in May - and it cancelled out the biolock he dropped at Anfield.

V important challenge from Keane later too, he's a close 2nd. Digne, Gana, Rich = boss. Loving all the claptrap on RAWK, particularly "19 games blah blah blah". Yup, we're SO insignificant to them they have to resort to that!

I also like the rare display of creativity, calling us "Rhylwall" in their thread - yet they are the ones that had to resort to fouling and roughing us up. So yeah, maybe we didn't win and that remains a bit annoying, but I'm so glad we showed them up for what they really are in front of the whole world - a bunch of dirty 'nearly men', and not the world-beating superstars sky and the red media make them out to be.

Why would anyone vote for Walcott for MOTM?
Maybe they fancy him. What does he actually do?
The players looked like they REALLY cared which was nice. My theory on Walcott is that the board don't want to sell him so Marco's just playing him every game to show everyone how unbelievably cack he is
Given that Silva seems to have a passive-aggressive streak, I wouldn't put it past him. "See, Farhad? I told you he was crap."
