That is not true. This RS team can defend, unlike Rogers team that leaked goals for fun.

The two FBs are merely competent players who we would benefit from in our quest to get top 6 or whatever; the front three have scored less between them than City's and Spurs this season; and as you rightly point out, the midfield are bang average...which is why they bypass them.

Apart from that they're "world class".

The GK and Gomes + VVD are the only truly exceptional players...and that GK has a blunder in him way too often to be considered world class.

Liverpool’s GK and defence is much better then 2013/2014. Midfield is still average now as it was in 2014. As for the forwards:
Sterling = Mane
Suárez > Firmino
Sturridge < Salah

Sturridge was on fire that season; easily the equal of Salah. The Rodgers' MF of Gerrard, Coutinho, Henderson were superior to the tat there now.
