exactly. listening to Macmanamenamananamam then the little tit
Where will Liverpool finish, 3rd he said. Where will Everton finish, 7th or 8th because our squad is weaker than the top teams. Since when did the RS have a boss bench to call upon?

we've just got to keep ticking over and every game more means we are closer to optimum fitness, another week with Koeman working then hard and us getting the rewards on the pitch.

we ain't even got out of 2nd gear yet like you mention, a lot more to come from us

liverpool's bench vs chelsea:
  • 1 Karius
  • 16 Grujic
  • 18 Moreno
  • 21 Lucas
  • 27 Origi
  • 35 Stewart
  • 53 Ejaria
our bench today:
  • 1 Robles
  • 7 Deulofeu
  • 12 Lennon
  • 15 Cleverley
  • 19 E Valencia
  • 25 Funes Mori
  • 30 Holgate
big difference if you ask me

Good game for my annual visit and good 3 points. Good first half followed by a very forgettable second but delighted to see us 2nd, Barry and Gueye class.

Actually while the 2nd half was less entertaining for goalmouth action than the 1st half I think what the second half showed was that we can also comfortably control and close out a game. To me that's a massive improvement on what I've seen at any other time in the last 20 years and the most encouraging sign yet of how impressively Koeman is going about his game management and tactics. The fact the players seem to get it so well bodes well for the future. Let's see where we are in 5 more games though!

Maybe we could swap Origi for Cleverley? :p

Absolutely. If we could have closed games out we would have been in a cup final (3-1 up at City)

Big difference between the realist Koeman and the dreamer.

I agree that we should check our progress after a few weeks.

During the television commentary the commenter said Everton had lost their focus in the second half, I couldn't understand his remark. I thought we bosses the game exactly how we wanted to. Middlesbrough didn't have a shot on target. Compare that performance with one's from last year when being 2-0 up was a dangerous position for us.
While it is very nice knocking in goals it is also nice seeing us impose ourselves on teams and playing the play we want to.
Yesterday was a professional predominance.

Currently trending on Sky.com..........'Gunners should go for Koeman'. Really.
We're already seeing real progress since Moshiri came here and if this continues Koeman mightn't want to leave.

Imagine, a team capable of regularly competing at the top and playing in a spectacular new stadium.

There's a way to go yet, but we're on our way.

The funny thing is that, since he retired, I've heard/read him say that he's still an Everton supporter. Maybe he's just giving an
objective opinion.

Anyone ever done this before?? I knew I wasn't going to see the game on tv nor would I have been able to get updates, so I went into airplane mode and watched the highlights without knowing the score on motd, had kids to put bed etc so knew I was going to be busy regardless, have to say it was some rush watching it, every attack you're half expecting a goal, even the motd order of games had me working out the permutations. Knew we were ahead of Leicester so was fearing a high score draw, probably best motd I've ever seen with the anticipation of the game coming up but obviously be hard to repeat. Quickest bottle of red I've ever drank for sure
I tried this once. Over here it's easy enough to avoid hearing our score so didn't even need to turn off my phone.

The big flaw in my plan is that there's no MOTD here. DOH!!

.....the 'inverted' winger role for Bolasie wasn't as evident yesterday, he appeared a much more conventional wide player for much of the game. The full backs do look a lot more disciplined in respect of neglecting their positions but it was good to see Coleman is still capable of being a real threat.
