Be even worse next week when we ship Gordon out on loan. Looks like zero thought has gone into our alternatives this transfer window just sell sell sell.
That's what makes it even more frustrating. We have zero attacking options to come off the bench. Why loan out Moise Keane?, now we are considering loaning out Cenk and Gordon. Those 3 may not all be starters but if plan A ain't working, we have no Plan B

Win the FA Cup?

Yes, I do think it will get better.

1.) We still have one of the best away records in the whole of the league, 6 wins out of 9 with only 2 defeats.
2.) Our next game is against Leeds away.
3.) Allan is back against Manchester United. Who will make a huge difference to this midfield.
Leeds will run us off the park - it’s a really bad match up for us and as for the Utd game - they’ve got our measure even when we play our 4 centre half’s. Devastating loss this one to a really poor side

That performance tells you everything you need to know about this current squad.

It's not just quality it's more player's with the right (winning) mentality we need.

Aided by a referee with an interesting interpretation of the rules Newcastle kicked us off the park in the first half and our players are so passive they took it and let it effect them.

Current form aside Rodriguez, Allan and Richarlison are our only players with a winning mentality. We'll need more to allow for talented but timid teammates.

DCL obviously isn't fit and we have no other options to play him until he'll inevitably get injured again. The options from the bench weren't pretty.

I wouldn't of started Pickford and it's not like he was to blame for the result but coming out to narrow the angles of their second goal he then moves giving them more of the goal to aim for.

It's frustrating to say the least. Ancelotti is only in the early days of the squad rebuild I have to remind myself. I think we'll finish in the top half but I think Europe is beyond us. Neither the quality in depth or mentality to succeed is in the squad.

Be honest I am just never confident in this club to be successful ever again. Us younger ones best we have seen is a day out to Wembley. I always get this feeling that we are going to everton it up at some point. Love the club so much but god it’s like you cheat on me every year haha.

Good win for Newcastle, but allowed to bully us by the ref IMO. In the end we were tepid and timid. Need a couple of new faces, RB and another forward.
Yeah the ref was horrendous the amount of times they were allowed to deliberately leave a foot in without getting booked was ridiculous. It was the sort of game where me missed Allan and Godfrey who are both aggressive players.

Why am I not surprised, or even disappointed? It's just another of those Saturdays where you wake up in the morning and just know it isn't going to go our way, so shrug it off and move on. Meanwhile I'll just sit back and watch this thread combust :coffee:
