The “predictable” passing you mention is called build up play.

You then go on to bemoan long balls?! We’ve kept it on the deck a lot more than usual. This is a marked improvement.

In terms of movement, you’ll notice that Newcastle are playing very deep with nine men behind the ball. As I said, it’s simply that final ball in that area of the pitch that’s missing.

Its not 'build up play' when its mostly in ypur half and the opposition are standing off letting you do it. We do that then hit it l9ng as soon as pressed or someone blinks at us
 


A lot of people clearly have their own agenda and minds already made up.

Sometimes, we need to take a step back and look at the game, not just our preconceived notions.

This season, the following is true:

- Schneiderlin is crap
- We play long ball
- Our football is turgid
- We let teams do what they want against us

However, tonight you have to admit that none of that has been the case. We expected it to be, but it hasn’t.

So appreciate it for what it is.
