I don't see how. We have Delph and Gray listed as out ill and I assume that's Covid, plus Mina, Richo, Townsend, and Rondon injured, and Davies doubtful.

Before last nights game Newcastle had no players listed as out with Covid and three players out injured.

They've lost one through five yellows and possibly up to three more injured, Wilson, St Maximin, and Schar.

None of the injuries and our two Covids will be enough for a postponement, and unless there are more Covids we don't know about the match will go on.
Howe said in his interview that they had COVID in their camp and with the injuries on top of that there was a chance they'd be at the limit with 14 players.

Was about to say the same .. Neots 13 players he said he may have, which is the limit. Maybe see if they’re keen for a game of heads and volleys to decide this one seeing as we don’t have anyone either

I'd say they'll be trying for a postponement especially with their injuries and "Covid" plus they are days away from the window opening to get in reinforcements.

They have 4 Covid cases (Darlow, Clark, Willock and Richie), yesterday they picked up 3 new injuries in Saint-Maximin, Wilson and Schar plus a suspension for Manquillo for us.

But they'll have Hayden back from suspension so if they require 13 players plus Goalkeeper and based on their bench yesterday, they should be able to field a team provided no new Covid.

Newcastle: I can see the reason they'd want to postpone. But there's also the issue that they just hit on some form and might want to push on in a fixture they see as manageable against an Everton team not exactly firing on all cylinders. If you're Howe, you might also want use the televised match to attract buyers for players he'd have to shift out before the expected in-comings of January.

They know they owe the PL big time after their takeover was forced through for them.

I think we'll see this game played.

I'd imagine they are testing their whole squad today. We'll probably know by tomorrow morning at the latest.

We have Digne & Doucoure 1 yellow away from a 1 game ban, they have to get to 19 games without any yellow - it includes the 19th game.
(Godfrey, Gray, Townsend are on 3)

5 Yellows - 19 Premier League Matches = 1 game ban
10 Yellows - 32 Premier League Matches = 2 game ban
15 yellows - Last day of the same playing season = 3 game ban
20 yellows - Last day of the same playing season = As determined by a Regulatory Commission
