Seem to remember this fixture last season ended Godfrey's career. His arse needs firmly glueing to the bench
That injury plus the possible after effects of Covid certainly haven’t helped Ben Godfrey but the fact that Godfey got an England cap previously while at Everton showed the difference between then and now.

People will be making the covid excuse for this fella until the end of his career, when reality is it's more likely that we simply spent £25m on a defender from the Championship and a Championship level defender is exactly what we got.

(As for caps, they've been thrown out like confetti for years so hardly a barometer of being an elite player).

You might be correct but there is definitely a difference in Geoffrey’s performances before his injury, Covid and now.

Yeah that's true. TBF he had a good spell under Carlo; not easy to be playing different positions in the back line from one week to the next, but then Keane also had a decent spell under Carlo too so I think that speaks more to the manager's ability than the players. Either way, we all know where his level as a player is. Quite why Spurs are apparently interested in him is baffling.

Tends to be put in a blocking position for corners, can't help but fell someone who isn't 6ft 5 could do that nad Brainthwaite could attack the ball
Feel the same but it also kind of makes sense as he's a big lad and will have a big lad on him, freeing up someone else.

In theory, in practice we're hoping Tarks somehow does a Cahill and wins inbetween giants I guess.
