Onana lost the plot when he came on. We're effectively playing with 10 men because of his rashness. He'll learn. Iwobi was outstanding. And Pickford pass for the goal was sublime. We still look better than last season with obvious gaps in personnel. Also shout out for Holgate who has been v good all three games. I slated him last season but that focus has switched to McNeil. He's awful. 20m wasted - hope I'll be proven wrong.
 

Thoughts:

• Tarkowski poor today, uncharacteristic errors. Made amends in the 2nd half in winning headers in the box.

• Gordon very wasteful in possession and should’ve won the game for us.

• Looked solid defensively again, Coady & Holgate did well at centre back.

• Patterson another decent game at RWB, Mykolenko similar on the opposite flank.

• At the risk of sounding like a broken record, we desperately need a proper striker up front.

The weight of some of his passing was of but he was one of the few who was working well in transitions from defence to attack and trying to get us on the front foot
 
Performance isn’t bad just nothing in the final third in way of an end product. No one in the box to get on the end of anything….

We would have been better with simms or broadhead (scored today)…. They would have provided more up front than that donkey.

We need to get someone in quickly up top.

Iwobi also becoming one of our most important players right now!

Well that's very true. Gray and Gordon wouldn't start for any other team in the league, at least not on a regular basis, and did we even have any competition to sign McNeil? He's not good enough die this division. Would genuinely rather see 38 year old Townsend instead of him, he's awful.

Look better than last season?? We won 4 of our first 5 games last season and drew the other.
