First thing we need to do is play the likes of Richarlison/James/Doucs/DCL against these yard dogs. Finish them by half time and make changes.

Aim is top 4 this year but it be nice to have a good cup run. We aren't in Europe so may aswell.

Last thing we should be doing is risking the likes of Richarlison/James/Doucs/DCL against some yard dogs.

Olsen
Kenny Holgate Mina Nkounkou
Davies Gomes
Siggurdsson
Bernard Toshun Gordon

Aim is Top 6 this year we haven't the depth to fight on more than one front yet. Maybe after this window and the summer...

I'd play James because he needs minutes and Rich because he needs goals. That's the reason why.

We've had plenty of time to prepare for this game. Get it won in the first half, then rest the lads.

Too risky for me - if either pick up a knock and are out for Wolves/Villa then its a huge blow and one that was needlessly taken when we have a good chance of finishing in the European places even CL.

True, but then again it's arguably easier to win the FA Cup than push for a CL place.

All comes down to the squad though and it's ridiculous that we didn't plan for this part of the season by getting in at least one more attacker late in the last window. We knew it was coming up.

Absolutely no way we win the FA Cup this yr - when Utd were bringing on Martial and Rashford we were bringing on Cenk Toshun.

Go with a 2nd string - if we get through great if not couldn't care less this year when a Top 4 finish could revolutionise this club in terms of FFP/ability to attract the players to take us up a level.

No aim this year, like every year is to win something, then after that look at the league table.

Baffles me when I see people saying stuff like this. We haven't won a pot for 26 years!! That is abysmal and absolutely has to stop soon.

But we aint winning it this year! Our squad depth is absolutely shocking and whereas Man City or whoever can make 6 changes to the side that played in the league 3 days prior to the cup quarter final or whenever we cant and get smashed.

Until we sort the squad out its either focus on the league or the cups.

At this point in the season we are normally out the running for Europe whereas we have a big chance to finish in the top 4/6 - that has to be the priority this season not only to give us more dough to get around FFP but also allow Carlo to attract better players to continue the evolution of the club.

If our 2nd string cant beat kin Rotherham then we aint going to win the Cup anyway so I dont see why people want us going full strength when by the time we get to the latter stages of the cup comp if we make it we'll inevitably have players missing through injury\suspension so if people cant trust Bernard, Siggurdsson, Gomes, Gordon etc to start against Rotherham what we going to do if they need to play against Man City/ Liverpool / Utd etc.

Can't say I agree with this one.

It'd be understandable if it was the Christmas period and it was 3 days between games. But it will be 8 days between this game and then another week before the next game. Why not play the best team and worry about the consequences later? Might get drawn against an easy team next round and before you know it, the team is in the fifth round.

We play Wolves 3 days later on Tuesday 12th January.

No one knows what the future draw will be. Yes Everton will probably end up away at a top 6 team at some point but if we just now out because of that we then can’t moan if we see City getting championship teams all the way to the final then playing Watford. We need to stay in the cup as long as we can. If a big team puts us out then tough. We need to start competing with these teams on a regular basis. Part of the problem is that these cup latter stages come round so infrequently for us that when they do we build it up so much and invariably not perform. We need to be in the quarters and semis of the league cup and fa cup season in season out. Then one season we might get a decent performance and beat a top team or you get a lucky draw. That’s how you win cups, not hoping for this mystical run that happens once every ten years and then the rest of the time going out early because United or City might put us out later.

We should always aim to win the thing, although accepting its unlikely.

I'd leave out most/all of our important players, we should still have enough to beat these and sustaining yet another injury isn't worth it, at this stage of the cup and against this opposition, with due respect.

We need a succession of good draws in the cup and would have to beat at least one top side probably, to ever think of winning it.

Get to the final and go all out on the day, give it everything, no mater who its against, thats what I say.

They could pick up a knock in training where half our injuries comes from. Id start both of them along with Coleman
