It was a disaster

There were about 4 blokes who tried it, no one else joined in

It was supposed to be the entirety of my usual section behind the goal (I think) but it was nigh on impossible to get anything going down at the front. It was all families and stuff, with the regular people who sit around me seemingly deciding to stay home. I think I'll join them in doing so next season

Yeah, was meant to be towards the back of the GT4 - a few rows behind where I sit but I can get it not working at all in the League Cup.

FA Cup perhaps a different prospect but we’ll see.

Looked like a lot of kids in the ground too from the footage i saw which is good. But that's another reason why the atmosphere might be quieter. Still, 32k last night was a great turnout, best of the round by some distance.

..good point, Tim. It’s still the school holiday so a great opportunity to take them to a midweek game.

Usually the Lower Gwladys is at least decent

I often leave games thinking "Wow, great atmosphere today!" and then watch it back at home to see that "Nope, it was just us apparently"
When is the atmophere in the Gwladys decent Mikey? Seriously mate, I've never in all the time I've been going to Goodison ever sat anywhere else other then the Lower Gwladys and the atmophere has never been worse then the last five years. Maybe it's better then the rest of Goodsion at times but that's like being the tallest man in a room full of dwarves. What passes for atmophere at home is none existent most games. Fans who try to get It going are met with either blank stares or angry glares. I don't know What the answer is anymore other then for the club to create an offical singing section. Sure we might get laughed at a bit but we get laughed at by most traveling support every week anyway.

I will say this, I'm not sure if I'll go to early rounds of this tournament next season

You could have heard a pin drop in Goodison at times last night, even in the Gwladys

It didn't help that we put out the reserves, although for the most part I thought everyone did well
Being entirely honest, the atmosphere last night was actually on par with, or even better, than most early round league cup / EL games over the past decade.

The mixture of lower attendance, less season ticket holders (breaking up the usual communities etc.) and more families with children always dampens the place.

With regards to the match, I think it was a promising performance with the only faint criticism being the fragile defence, however it was makeshift so it is what it is.

I sit in the second block of the Main Stand, so close to the Gwladys Street and have to say that it's very rare these days to hear any noise come out of there, apart from the odd 'Everton' chant after a goal has been scored. There may be people singing in there but it really doesn't travel out to the rest of the ground. The place is a morgue.

Looked like we played some nice footy last night when it clicked. Bodes well. We do look a completely different team going forward.

Issues remain at the back. Get them sorted and we should have more than enough to be competitive on all fronts this season once everyone's fit.

Tough one, but I gave it to Digne who showed his pedigree throughout. I thought the back four were good in general. Thought Davies and Sandro had good games and Sigurdsson different class again. Dowell a lot better in the second half.

Two good finishes from DCL, but one to forget for Oumar like..

Yes, it was a bit flat, but to be fair it had to be expected given the nature of the fixture. There were still a number of times were the fans got on their feet aside from the goals being scored. It was fine.

..I think it’s lot to do with the team approach. More specifically, setting your team up to win a game as opposed to not lose a game. Encourage attackers to take risks and be ambitious with passes, shots and taking opponents on.
