The only option to switch it up there is Davies and he doesn't offer much different.

I can see why you'd think that given I can't seem to remember Everton a time before we'd play two holding midfielders, but against the likes of Sheff Utd at home there's an argument to be had that you could go two up front.

Tosun then for Schneiderlin perhaps, drop Sigurdsson deeper (or play Iwobi).

Never going to happen as we wont venture away from the 4-2-3-1.

If we go two up front we are still going to be playing two defensive midfielders. That's basically all we have in the squad after years of this formation.

Sigurdsson deeper is a waste of his limited talents. He's good at leading the press up top, late runs into the box, and the odd long strike. Dropping him back deeper is going to take away his ability to do those things he does best and then he's just another passenger like the others in the middle.
 

I'm interested to see if Bernard can take his chance. One of the reasons he might be reluctant to drop Sigurdsson is that Bernard has only been so-so on the left.
