Was a hard fought match, I went for Doucoure just for his sheer work rate. As many have said don’t think many stood out but as always Doucoure put in a real shift tonight

We should be thankful that Southampton are badly off form and in free fall, otherwise that would have been another loss.

What did Allan give us in that game, all I remember is him getting to the ball and clearing it straight to their CMs and nearly letting Ings in at the end dithering on the ball. Should have been off way before then......

The obligatory 3 extra minutes of injury time played, but we got over the line.

Not great, but a very good 3 points, Saints were full of energy and pressing which causes us problems, but other than the vital save at the end, it was a quiet night for Pickford.

The commentary team of Tyler and Beglin was the worst I’ve ever heard. Proper seething after the derby and didn’t even try to hide it.

They're just so old hat and blithering. I'd rather listen to an enthusiastic young commentator who doesn't try and make out they know it all. Some folk would do that job for nothing. I shudder to think what the Two Stooges are on.

I said to my dad that Southampton could play until midnight and not score, I think the ref took that as a challenge. God knows where he got 5+ minutes of injury time from!? Grinding out a decent win against a distinctly average team, shades of last weekend now i think of it

We say it after every game we are winning now but we seriously need to start asking questions of this sussy additional time. It’s borderline cheating.

Three very welcome points. A clear, if limited, gameplan from Carlo which forced Southampton to be more creative than us - which they couldn't do.

I'm confused about the timing of the substitutions, and I'm not at all comfortable with the lack of pace and creativity, but we've lost WAY too many of these types of games this year. The performance wasn't good enough, but the result was.
