The team selection shows how threadbare the squad is, with the exception of CB. I'm interested to see how Alcaraz will perform - isn't this his competitive debut for us?

Dropping Pienaar and Mirallas is overdue, but with Deulofeu out injured I get the impression Martinez has been trying to avoid it. I think Oviedo will do fine, and I agree that Naismith always puts a shift in. I'd be happier with an alternative to Osman in the middle of the park though - I'd be tempted to swap him and Barkley around and I wonder if we'll see that today at some point.

Team selection demonstrates that we need another option in CM and also on the right wing, more so than any other position IMHO.
