Absolutely 0 creativity in this team going forward just utterly clueless on how to break down a defence. So far the best plan has been keep going wide then eventually cross to no one and get countered because our full backs are the only ones getting any space in attack.

It's embarassing tbh don't think there is another team that struggles for creativity as much as us, even in the moyes era for every grafter of a player like cahill or fellaini they were offset by a pienaar or arteta, now we have nothing.

Soton like half the league have got the 4 defenders and 5 midfielders occupying their defensive 30 yards whenever we have it. Makes them solid and zero space for us hence the side to side. Not a criticism of them, it works, but makes for a very dreary game when we don't have a player who has that magic in boots to find a yard that isn't there.

Part of the problem is that whenever we do break down the wing we always come back and give everyone time to get back in position...if we play home or away we always attack against 11 players behind the ball becuase of this and it does my head in... just take the man on and keep pushing... don't stop then pass backwards ..

Pretty much! We're going long more under Koeman, to a front man who doesn't like/want/can't keep the ball as demanded of him in this style.

Southampton are just exploiting that, pressing us, happy for us to punt it long, getting back into solid defensive rows and happy to see our woeful crosses being sent in.
Yeah kind of but more like we hit pointless long balls that nobody could ever get on the end off, there like balloon kicks.

We have three central midfielders who don't create and a striker who doesn't effectively hold the ball up half the time. The chances we create are coming from out wide and everyone knows it.
