This is the easiest imaginable first competitive match for Benny.

Southampton are crap at the best of times and we find them at the worst of times having sold their top scorer and best centre back . Add in that their captain and best player wants to go to Villa and it tells you what a mess they're in.

So , this match should tell us a lot about what to expect under the kopite.

My opinion is that despite their problems we will be ultra safe and dour.

I expect either a draw or perhaps a 1 nil win when to be honest if we have any aspirations we should be trouncing this lot.

If we lose this game there's nothing down for Benitez. We will be well beaten at Leeds and then Goodison really will turn toxic.
