Can't remember exactly but that moment when they decided to go direct near the end
and had two options - go to the 3v3 straight in front of goal
or go to the 2v4 wider with much less chance of playing on
can't remember who played the pass but sums up the wit of this team.

If your an opposition fan of a team from 12th downwards, you'd be looking at those bottom 3 places and saying "Everton definitely taking one of those spots so it's not worth focusing on their results as they are finished".

Didn't we go direct the entire match?

Saw the writing on the wall about 30 mins in..after a good period of play we were fairly comfortable but started doing really sloppy things like winning the ball but then under no real pressure carelessly giving it away. Easy safe balls were ignored, choosing to try misplaced flick ons, chips forward, or carrying the ball into trouble.

Couple of occasions our centre backs stood right next to one another giving no option to pass the ball out, instead putting it back to pickford to welly up field. All this started happening from 3 or 4 players at the same time like it was contagious. Knew immediately which way the game was going to turn. Its just like our players have zero belief they can focus and play well for more than 10-15 mins. We self implode out of choice.

I knew at halt time we would struggle in the second half. Ward Prowse was playing higher on the pitch and had a couple of situations in the first half where he was in very dangerous positions and we all know his shooting ability. It seems to me that the team does not have the same solidity with very close lines than we had at the start of the season. It seems all disjointed at the moment and that's on lampard...I guess he is trying to get the team to play more forward but this is impacting our defense.

That JWP free kick should’ve been on the edge of the box on the left but he was allowed to bring it back and move it more centrally for his preferred position. Bad refereeing that.

Just watched the whole match. It was a game of 2 poor teams, one of which took their chances and has one of the best free-kick experts in the PL. There was a lot of effort but not much quality from Everton, despite which a bit of luck would have given us a win. A moment of brainlessness from Gordon was enough to gift Southampton a goal. It would be nice to be able to say we were done by the officials, but unusually they were practically faultless.

Anyway MoM, as most people have said, Onana wins by a country mile. Coleman and Iwobi worthy of a mention for effort.

I'm confident we will have no problem maintaining a mid-table place in the Championship.

It’s crazy how things can change so quickly. This was at half time yesterday.
