Closer than it should have been. Defence are still criminal in defending. There goal was absolutely awful to concede. There main striker and not one player on him. Must say that pickford should have alerted everyone that he was free. Missed some good chances and can see that once the defence is sorted we could have a decent team. Plenty of positives but still too many negatives at the moment.

Apart from last 10 minutes they said Gana was crap but I'veread here a fair few folk say he was motm

Sounded like a solid first half and a poor 2nd half but I'll take a win, especially with a lot of the signings still to come in

Typical Mark Hughes side, incredible they had none sent off.
A win with a great first half, good game management in the second.
Still without most of our new boys so can expect only improvement when they come in.

Never really in doubt that result.

Bit of dodgy defending after half time but with 3 better defenders to come in that isn't an issue and if our attack can score 2 a game now then give it a month as we could be seeing us kill teams off.

I'm optimistic under Silva and brands

Corners and hoofs are a problem, hopefully we can sort it out. We only gave up 1 playing w/ Baines and coleman up really high. We were much worse in D last year despite playing everyone back.

Gana was average for large parts of the game, but when the game was getting stretched made some vital challenges without which, who knows...
