We had 3 of our back 4 out man or we'd have spanked yous ... Thought we caused yous problems most the game but that defence we had out today was barely championship standard

against any other team you'd have a point, but we've not exactly got 4 fully fit first choice defenders ourselves. sunderland are good to watch going forward but you'll get relegated because the defence is just too bad. The first choice defenders aren't exactly brilliant, let's be honest.

How is it that Lukaku's close touch and passing is so awful and yet everything else is so sublime. He had service today, ergo he scored but he was willnig to set others up as well. He can cross the ball well, he can do long passes well. So why can't he pass 2 yards or control the ball.

He'd be the best in the world if he could just add that to his game.

Howard (6) : Made a few decent saves, but his inability to come off his line and claim in the 6 yard area is costing us goals. Teams know this, and he needs dropping.

Coleman (7) : Better. Not really played too well in recent games, but his attacking link up play with Geri on the right hand side was brilliant. Defensively he looked abysmal, but an improvement regardless.
Stones (5) : Worst performance in an Everton shirt for quite some time.
Funes-Mori (7) : Looks like he has settled in fine. Was left short a few times by Stones, but a good day for him. Eat it Vickery.
Oviedo (6) : Came off injured in the first half, but looked defensively sensible. Inability to cross and overall distribution is Hibbert-esce, but he did work hard.

McCarthy (6) : Our legs in midfield, but didn't do anything else. Sunderland found it easy to exploit space left in behind him when he went forward. Average.
Barry (7) : One of his better games, must be said. Carried the ball well and was always positive in his passing. Defensively his game was poor mind, and he looked knackered after 60 minutes.

Kone (9) : Perfect day from our sweet Ivorian Prince. His link up play is superb, and there's obvious chemistry between him and Rom. Scored 3 great goals and was my MoTM.
Barkley (7) : Frustrating to watch, but always looking to make something happen. Not one of his better days, but teams are marking him tightly since his recent run in form.
Deloufeu (9) : Superb, but that dive at 2-2 infuriated me. His passing and overall distribution has come on leaps and bounds this season, worked his arse off too the greasy haired little [Poor language removed].

Lukaku (7.5) : Hot and cold, to be fair. His distribution goes from Sunday league to World Class. Well taken goal, and linked up well with Kone - delivering that beautiful cross for his third.

Galloway (7) : Defensively solid, but his refusal to cross in attacking positions annoys me. Not a left back, but he did a good job after coming on. One for the future.
Mirallas (6) : He worked. Did one or two little things, and was unlucky not to score. Can tell he really wants to play.
Osman (5) : Didn't do anything.

I honestly think we don't play to his strengths often enough.

He was great for most of today.

One left, one right, one head. The real deal.

the second was with his left as well unfortunately. it should have been with his right! rom will get a hat-trick at some point this season, nobody would have predicted naismith and kone hat-tricks at the start of the season before anyone else.
