The tactic changed the game. If Gana had of come off we still would have been more on the front foot as positional changes took place. I am not saying Schnides is great or anything but it was more of Alladyces change rather than Davies coming on

Yep, a tactical switch but the thing is neither Schneiderlin nor Gueye can play that box-to-box role.

Away from home and against sides when we will be on the back foot a bit, 4-2-3-1 is okay.

But in these types of games 4-3-3, with Rooney in the free role in midfield, is the way to go.

Not with carthorse who has the speed of a snail sorry he should be no where near the bench!

It's OK to disagree but the substitution changed the game. Whether they play in the same position or not, having Schneiderlin in the team doesn't work.

It does though in certain games.

It worked in the derby in the second half and it worked in the game at Newcastle.

Today we needed to be more positive and get us going 4-3-3 with Rooney able to pull the strings a bit.

I agree the substitution changed the game.. it was needed. We had to go more on the front foot and schnides job is not that. Type of game when his position wasn't really needed but against better teams his position will be more important.

Schneiderlin is a good player Joey. He actually played fine today.

Issue was him being in that position meant that Gueye is pretty much redundant, so we had one less attacking player.

Davies came on at the right time as his fresh legs did for their midfield.

However, we do have to be looking to do that more from the off in games such as this.

Sounds to me there will be nowt much coming in to the club in January judging by Allardyce is saying. Mostly players going out, Klaasen and Sandro specifically.

He specifically said young players still getting used to the country, which might rule out Sandro. You'd think Mirallas, Jagielka and a few others would be out the door though, especially with Moyes willing to buy them all.
