coy:( missed the match of the season. Happy we could this w/o some of our best players. Also happy for Bernard. COYB!

You can see the mentality is changing with us. In years gone by we lose games like utd like tonight but we just don't know when we are beaten. To score 4 goals away from home and still lose is just wow. We are becoming a different beast though which is fantastic to watch and support but also heart attack material.

I do agree with Don Carlo though we need European football because with the pull he has when it comes to players would be next level and I think we will just continue to get better and better under his watchful eye

Well that was easy, never in any doubt! In all seriousness, it was great to see the desire from the lads, we scored some brilliant goals as well, DCL, Richarlison and Bernard.
I think we had 3 good chances to kill the game off, Richarlison when it was 3-1, spurs muddled up in defence and he was clean through, but the keeper saved. Keane from a corner at 3-2 straight at the keeper and Keane again when it was 5-4, flashed a header wide from close range.
Going forward we played well, there were a few Contenders for MOTM, Tom Davies, Siggurdsson (1 goal and 3 assists). But I went for Doucoure, he covered every inch on the pitch and was very positive, at times when we were under pressure, he would break out and get us up the pitch quickly and start an attack or win a free kick, when you're under pressure in games that can be vital

Its almost one of those freak games where tactics went out the window. I think you can draw a line under most of it and there was a lot of really good things we did tonight.

The set plays is the one thing we do need to fix. Dont know what happened tonight

Yeah sorry, not tactics - that was the wrong word as implies it was managerial instruction - more the mentality. After seeing out the initial Spurs wave we then got a foothold and created the Keane chance, which he has to finish. Just would have liked to see us have that thrust. But yeah, mad game.

Son's deliveries were great but the weaknesses of our marking system were there to see. That's now four goals conceded directly from set-pieces in the last four games. Our CBs have to be aggressive and attack the ball, and Sigurdsson should not be the one marking Sanchez - our system is a mix of zonal and man marking, with CBs and Dom/Rich often marking zones and the rest picking up players.

The issue wasn't really the change anyway, it was just the tactics of dropping back at 4-3. We got forward once after that and Keane should have scored. It's that mentality hurdle - we need to get over it.

Yes, I understand Spurs were always going to press us too. Two teams played the game. But when we attack, we can be bloody good.

We did it v Utd. Got back to 2-2 then suddenly realised we had something to lose.
we haven't been playing too well in a defensive shell and our free kick defense sucks, we are going to have to start attacking more.

We're up at the top of the charts for defending set-pieces. Issue is we concede so bloody many. In each of the last four games we've conceded a corner within the first 2 minutes. It's mental.

It's only the last few games that teams seem to have started getting joy against us at them though. It's been one of our major strengths this season.

Keane is usually key to them and he hasn't been good in the last few games. He needs to be more aggressive in the air. He so often waits for the ball to come to him, whereas Mina, for his faults, attacks the ball.

a United side who are in a good vein of form played and they played very well; we drew.
A Spurs team played one of their best games of the season and we beat them with players missing and our only true striker going off.

This has the feeling of a different Everton.

was going to mention that we were good at it early in the season. unless its just bad luck, the prem has figured something out. we have figured out how to fix it fast.
