Not getting carried away.....West Ham were dreadful. BUT....much improved performance bar that 10 minute spell at the start of the second half when they pinned us back. Absolute worldy from Rooney who had a cracking game. Nobody really had a bad game, it's amazing what a bit of confidence can do.

Rooney, though. It wasn’t so much the distance, it was the quality of the hit. Like a golf shot. I’ll never forget that hit, only the very best have that ability. I love watching the fella.

Without doubt the turning point of the game was Pickford’s penalty save. They were in the ascendancy at that point, 2-1 who knows what it could have ended up. Rooney take a bow, fantastic goal. If nothing else, it will hopefully give the lads confidence going into Saturday, in an equally important game.
 

Superb. EXACTLY what we needed.

Doesn't matter one jot how bad West Ham were on the night, there are many positives to take away from that on a number of levels.

We're now to up to 13th in the table by virtue of the other results tonight which were weighted heavily in our favour. 5 points clear of the bottom three as well. Huddersfield on Saturday is still very important, but off the back of a big win and a clean sheet for the first time in forever we should be going into that with much more confidence than before.

Made up for Unsworth as well, his last game and he's gone out on a high note - 3 wins out of 3 at Goodison in the league for him as well.

Hopefully Allardyce would've learned a lot from that and carry the good things we showed into the Huddersfield game and keep the players going.

Great game to watch. Davies needs to sort his passing out and stop trying to beat men all the time, Martina - terrible defender- cannot run and Williams still a liability never mind the goal. DCL should have been subbed sooner or given more support. Kenny had a great game but Rooney deffo MOM, that third goal will go down as one the season's greats. BFS will think I have landed a good one here!!!!!!!!!!!

The ref had a good game.
