Match Thread Everton V West Ham . Sat March 15th. 3pm

I am making the trip over from the U.S. for my first ever game. For all I know this may be my only time seeing the blues in person.

I could not secure tickets through the Everton website, so I’m keeping my fingers extra crossed that the tickets I bought online are legitimate.

Assuming everything goes to plan, we will hit up the Winslow for a pre-match pint or two and then head to the stadium early to soak it all in.

If anyone has any other matchday advice or recommendations for our stay in Liverpool, feel free to comment or send me a message. UTFT

Where does the time go? Wonder what these menacing young street toughs are up to these days.

Don’t be afraid to get down to BMD mate, it’s a 30 min walk from the City or 5 mins in an Uber, nice to have a pint in the Bramley Moore as well. Last match day I did that and then just grabbed an Uber up to Goodison it’s about 10/15 mins odd.

Hit the Winslow for a pint early if you have your heart set on it, take an age to get a drink on a match day closer to kick off. One thing I’d recommend if you want to take in the ground is hitting the fan plaza, it’s just in front of the park end. They have Guinness machines there that give you the black stuff and a beer (it’s surprisingly good quality, better then a lot of the local pubs) and if it’s a nice sunny spring day it’s good to be outside just takeing in the Goodison vibes, atmosphere and local area - mega store is across the road - if it’s your first time you might want to go there, though don’t stress if you don’t have the time, there is another one in town in Liverpool One - sells the same gear.

Good Everton pub in town is the Excelsior, been going in there years, before going up to Goodison. The railway isn’t bad for a Sunday lunch.

If you’re coming this far do the stadium tour on the Fri or Sun - it’s worth it!

Enjoy mate! It’s a special place!

We won’t see her like again!

Cheers mate. This is much appreciated. We will 1000% be checking out BMD on Friday at some point. We’re staying in the city centre so I’m sure we’ll just take a walk over there. Was hoping to do the Goodison tour but it’s been booked for ages. I’m sure I’ll drop some dough at the Everton store as well as it will be hard to resist.

Class mate, you’ll have a ball and find your own way! ;)

Been going to Goodison for years and the local pubs have become more packed over the years - maybe I’m just getting older - have to say I really enjoyed sitting out in the fan plaza the last time I was there, drinking beer, taking in the old lady sitting in the sun shine, rather then being rammed into the local pubs.

One thing I’d never done before and I’ve been over 100s of times - was a Beatles tour - we had a gang with us the last time who wanted to do one, so went on it on the Sunday - actually really enjoyed it and didn’t think I would - was the magical mystery tour from Albert Dock, was very good! ;)

The Winslow will be packed. So go in early.
Walk all around the ground, to take it all in.
Visit the "market" upstairs in St. Luke's church, in Goodison Rd.
If you use public transport, take the train to Kirkdale Station (15 min walk to Goodison).
In the city visit the Denbigh Castle pub (Everton fan owned) and the Philharmonic (for the décor).
