I will not be watching this one, hopefully I will have the strength of personality to put the game out of my mind and not even check the scores as the game goes on. I watched the Sheffield United game and I think I have suffered enough. I will be back as soon as the window opens and the hope will return provided Carlo bins a lot of the crud that we have filling shirts at the moment and bring in players who want to play.

Carlo on Reaction/Attitude​

I think the key point is not the line-up but the attitude & strong reaction we want to show because we have the supporters back so it's important to show a good spirit"


Fans are back​

I think the supporters at the stadium is going to give us more motivation. They are going to give us more support. We had two times [in the league] only 2,000 supporters at the stadium so I'm sure they're going to support us

Message to Roy Hodgson​

Roy is a good friend. He had a fantastic career. In every club he was in Italy, they have a good memory of him. I think he helped football to be better & also he taught a lot of managers how to behave in & outside the pitch

I hope that we only do one thing: show a great reaction and be ready to play & to use our spirit. We were able to use it a lot of times but not at home & for that we're really disappointed. We'd like to finish the season at home better

It's difficult to explain how we were so good away & so bad at home. Away, all the time, we showed strong experience & sacrifice. Maybe the fact when we are forced to sacrifice, we did so well. When we were not so focused, we had a lot of problems


Carlo on Progress this season​

The only regret is that we lost a lot of opportunities. We fought for the European position but if we are not to make the position, it will be a regret because we had opportunities, We planned 21 games to be strong defensively & use the counter-attack, to be strong on set pieces - and of those 21, we won 14. In 15 games, we tried to play a little bit different... and won only two. Maybe this is the reason


I am not a magician​

Carlo is asked why a manager who has won three Champions Leagues has you not been able to solve this problem.

I am not a magician. I am only a trainer.
It is difficult to explain this double face of the team. it is true that we didn't play so well in this period and of course we have to improve the quality.
But you can play football in different ways. You can get results not only with quality.
It is true I have won a lot of trophies but I don't know how many with quality. It is also about spirit, and sacrifice, and focus.

We don't need to do a revolution. We have to follow our plan. It was a good plan this season when we signed good players. We have to do the same following the same plan. Absolutely no revolution. To improve the squad, we don't need to do a revolution

Oh what an atmosphere​

Carlo remembers his first experience of a crowd at Goodison Park as Everton manager.
It was last December and it was a magnificent atmosphere and now they are back we need to play football with emotion.

Josh King is available - He had a little problem on his hamstring & was not comfortable. He had a scan. It didn't show problems so he trained apart yesterday & today will train with the team"

Carlo says: I think that we have to talk about his situation. His loan finishes on June 30 and if there is no request from PSG he will be back.

Some quite revealing stuff there. Basically in the games where he asked the players to take responsibility and force opponents back, they failed 13 times out of 15. What an indictment on these players.

It's maybe been lost in translation a little bit, but yes we do need a revolution. There is very little left preserving in this squad. 2 or 3 signings this year won't be enough to stand still nevermind improve. Either they back the manager proper or they may as well bring in the cheapest possible option and admit their only ambition is to avoid relegation.

Hope so, I’d give them 10 minutes and if they haven’t pulled their fingers out I’d turn up the boo volume

He came as close to throwing them under a bus as he could there. Didn't single anyone out, but the entire emphasis was 'when they have to show quality and desire to win, they can't. We need more quality and better attitude in the summer'
