Pity about Del's reaction, though. The camera went on him twice in the moments after Rom's 1st and he looked like
he'd lost his wallet.
Ya he doesn't look a happy boy but he can't blame anyone but himself.he had his spot in the team and maybe took it for granted a lil bit.

He probably remembered the West Ham game and was waiting for the final whistle. Even at 2-0 i was petrified of us doing an Everton.

Can't wait for Wembley!!

I love the way the FA are trying to raise the profile of Europes most elite cup competitions. Playing future matches midweek, no replays, and best of all, having the semi-final draw a day later, on "The One Show".

You know, for all the razzmatazz they use when making the draw these days.....The One Show FFS.....they have never gotten close to the stomach churning, tension filled, excited anticipation, sense of dread and impending doom that two old blokes drawing numbered balls from a black velvet bag used to elicit in the old days.

Remember smuggling transistor radios with little earpiecesinto school so ad to listen to the draw at 1.30 on the Mondat afternoon?

Which us the exact time now, BTW.......we should be listening to the draw :(

So best case and worst case scenario for today?

There is none, IMO.

This is the strangest semi final draw I remember us being in.

Normally there is at least one opponent you want to avoid.

Like we wanted to avoid the RS in 2012 byr git them.

In '95 we wanted Palace instead of Spurs or United but got Spurs.

But this time?

They are all the same to me.

United ard not to be feared and I am not going to fret about the other three.

West Ham beat us last week but let's be honest.....we played most the game with ten men and were only a missed penalty away from giving them a good shoeing.

This semi final draw is reminiscent of 1984.

Saints, Watford and Plymouth.

I know Saints had a good team at red time but I wasn't worried who we were paired with.

;)

Our school dinner time was 12.00 to 1.30 pm. In 1967 the head thought it a good idea to have us all in the hall listening to the draw and when it came out Everton ... draw Liverpool the place erupted. It took them ages to get us to lessons. Needless to say they never did it again.

The draw should have been yesterday after the game.

To be honest, I think the draw should revert to 1.30 on the Monday.

No razzmatazz.....just the modern day equivalents of Bert Millichip and Stanley Rous drawing the balls against a background of hushed reverence.

Give the Cup draw back its dignity and its air of mystery :)

.....understandable because he was stripped off and ready to come on. He had probably got in the mindset that he was going to win the game, the next minute he's told to put his track suit on and Besic takes his place. It was an ante-climax for the lad and you'd want him to feel some immediate disappointment.

.....whoever wins the United/West Ham replay will be favourites. We are in with a great shout of winning this but every other side will also feel they can knock us out. Whoever we get will be a difficult challenge.

I would think United will be favourites all right if they win at the Boleyn, Eggs.

The bookies will be carrying more liabilities on them than the other three teams in the semis so they will be priced accordingly and will be shortened.

But I would say their liabilities would also be bigger on Everton than West Ham or the other two so for that reason I would expect we will be favourites if United are knocked out.

.....the draw will be a factor but I'd be surprised if the Hammers are not favourites if they beat United. I appreciate the point you make about liabilities but the monies will pour onto West Ham if they make it into the semi's given their form and league position.
