Think some of you are taking this too lightly with your line ups. He will still play a reasonably strong side IMO.

He has already confirmed that Jags will play, Pienaar too?

I would expect something like.....

..................................Robles
Pennington/Holgate.....Jagielka....Mori....Galloway
...........................Besic....Gibson
Lennon......................Mirallas............Pienaar
...................................Kone..........................

Why do people want Besic to play about 50 games in 2 weeks? I also love him, but do people not think he should get some rest, especially seeing as we have very tough games coming up all within 3-4 days of each other?

Christmas and the New Year are a tough time in the Premier League. There are extra matches over Christmas. The FA Cup comes in the New Year, with the possibility of replays too. The Premier League games are squeezed into midweek. On top of all this, we've got home and away legs in the League Cup semifinals - with the opportunity to appear in the final.

This load takes its toll - we finished the match with ten men on Wednesday. Barry, Barkley and Lukaku have had a much harder season than Besic. And without McCarthy, Coleman and Cleverley, things will be even more difficult.

So what should we do - play the first team players whenever they are fit, or spread our resources over the coming games? Do we focus on the semifinal, and rest players before the second leg? City, of course, have a much stronger squad than we do. But they also face stronger competition tomorrow than we do. We really would be struggling if we faced Premier League opposition in the FA Cup.

It's one thing to be beaten by a better team. It's quite another to be beaten by fatigue.

Rest some key players against fecking Dagenham & Redbridge was more my point. lol

Sure, play the first team whenever you can, but keep in my mind our fixture list and how small the game tomorrow is - give youth players some game time instead, don't take the unnecessary risk of playing every first team player, when we've got to play City, Chelsea, Swansea, then City again after this game, all in the space of 2 weeks.

I would like to see as many young players involved as possible, Dowell hopefully, with the experienced players like Jags Mirallas Osman involved think tomorrow would be a fantastic time to play them without jeopardising the result.
