Very early days and it's a victory with a goal from a corner but nothing too encouraging for me. Gibbo looked good but will spend most of the season injured. Apart from when he hit the post Niasse didn't look any better than last season. Rodriguez has no chance. Hope the 100 mill is real. We're going to need quite a few new players.

They're still professional footballers lad. You don't just get play wank whenever cause you've only trained for two weeks.

Jones was quietly competent in the second half.

Garbutt, Cleverley and Deulofeu did not do very much at all. Oviedo on the other hand put in a good shift.

Henen was as useless as Leandro in the first half.

Niasse. He's our Bebe.

I think what's more interesting from the team selection is where Koeman sees players.

He looks to have Mirallas and Lennon on the wing with Deulofeu backup.
Gibson is clearly highly thought of and Cleverly is now back as a CM.
He is looking at Davies instead of buying a backup RB.
Galloway is back to being used as a CB
Niasse is probably behind Rodriguez.

Not necessarily that because he might have wanted to mix the two teams up but I definitely think he played his stronger team first.

So all in all it's a step up from Martinez. At least most of the players are playing in their right positions.
