Considering how badly we started that 1st half against West Brom I don't understand why we're not starting with the team that played the 2nd half when we went 2 up front with Kone.

When I started following us in '89 I remember our historical head-to-stats being very close, they were ahead but just by 3 wins or so.

Now without caring to look it up they've opened up a massive gap...we'd need at least 25 years ourselves to bring it back to '89 levels. That plus incidents like Don Hutchison's backgoal which never stood, Rodwell being sent off early on for a great tackle, and the cameras constantly shoving an obscene wide-screen slow-motion Stephen Gerrard in our faces, nottomention the cult infesting all corners of the media, I've even seen derbies on the telly where both main pundits where ex-RS...surreal is the nicest thing I can say about it.

But this is the first RS side which don't have any local lads playing in a derby game...this should count in our favour today, and if we can pull of an emphatic win of the kind we should've done vs the Roy Hodgson side (I'm thinking a 4/5-goal hammering) then the next 25 years might look a whole lot better.

The downside is that our local lads could lose their heads easier than them. Lucas being a sly horrible get could be the key, he's been around the derbies enough to know how to wind us up.

just seen this quote:

Everton have won only three of their last 31 Premier League encounters with Liverpool, none of the last nine and one of the last 17.

surreal, like...as if we go in a weird state of trance against these.

Today's gonna be good, tho'...I can feel it!
