Spent ages dreading this and now, inexplicably, can't wait for it. I know Flump Head has got us all down but hopefully there'll be a thunderous tackle or a terrible refereeing decision that stirs the crowd up early.

Lose and we are as good as out, so hopefully an actual must-win mentality starts to get to these players. I blame Koeman heavily for our current issues but I'm starting to run out of patience with the bottle jobs in our team. The set up of the team is wrong but there is still ways they could make it serviceable such as off the ball movement up front and midfielders making themselves available for a pass.

Lyon are a young outfit who play at a quick tempo, our kryptonite really so I can't see any scenario were we win this game in our current form unfortunately.

Keep a consistent back 4 and GK. Free Gana up to just do his thing. Pace and trickery on the wings. Just tell Sigurdsson that he has to go up front when Rooney drops in so we always keep their defence pinned back.

Everton's Europa League hopes could be bolstered by an injury crisis gripping Lyon.

The French side will be without five first-team regulars when they visit Goodison on Thursday night in their Group E showdown.

Former Real Madrid attacker Mariano Diaz - who has netted seven goals in 11 games since arriving from the Bernabeu in the summer - and left-back Ferland Mendy have not travelled with the team to Merseyside after suffering adductor and thigh problems respectively.

Lyon are already missing trio of Pape Cheikh Diop, Clement Grenier and Jeremy Morel.

As a consequence, an under-21 quartet of goalkeeper Dorian Grange, defender Dylan Mboumbouni, midfielder Elisha Owusu and forward Alan Dzabana have all been called up.
