Started terrible, improved a bit, then took the lead even though they has the better chances. Very Everton. Long way to in this yet though.

Besic our best player but Lukaku is looking a bit isolated again with Kone not on the pitch. Too many long balls up to him with nobody around him. It's not exactly football from the gods. Del not having his best night either.

I think your nervousness might be affecting you Ed.

That was a very good performance. Not perfect but very good.

Lukaku has had quite a bit to feet. Some he laid off to the support that was there with him, so i dont think he has been isolated, others he unfortunately was a bit heavy with his touch.

Del was okay, not too bad. He is not in the same form as in earlier season but it will come back. I would say he will be first to be subbed if it stays like this past the hour mark.

he came out with another article saying he admits he was wrong i think

Indeed he did. @The Mighty Quint

When the Argentine centre-back joined Everton from River Plate I did not think he stood any chance of success. I felt that in the Premier League he would be exposed for lack of quality, pace and physicality.

True, his first couple of months have not been unblemished. He is unlikely ever to be a candidate for a world XI. But he appears to have settled in well, exuding confidence right from the off. Clearly, he is considerably better than I had thought.

This, of course, is something to be celebrated. Far better that players exceed your expectations than the other way round.

I don’t feel any particular shame about missing the target. These things are not a mathematical exercise. A player moving continents, stepping up in level – there are so many imponderables that moves of this type will always be a gamble.

By way of example, Funes Mori’s Toffees coach, Roberto Martinez, made an earlier foray into the Argentine market when he was in charge of Wigan, buying Estudiantes striker Mauro Boselli - a player I advised another Premier League manager against. Boselli, Wigan’s record signing, did not manage a single EPL goal, and his failure was a factor in the club’s relegation.

I do not cite this to be sneaky or to compare myself in any way to Martinez, who has forgotten more about football than I’ll ever know. It is merely to illustrate the point that no one gets it right all the time....

Moyes looks gutted the Twerp. Does he not sense the smugness that Oozes from the Usual RS media when they're doing well.....he should follow suit.

How much better do we look at the back with Cleverley and Besic starting

Baines isn't left out to dry and knows he has help

We are attacking with more intelligence and not leaving ourself over exposed

Great stuff so far

When is Yelka back? With Funes Mori turning out to be a classy goal machine*, is our captain guaranteed to slot straight back in?

*high speculative.
