I agree that he doesn't deserve to be dropped. But I also think Coleman should get the odd home game here and there because if he's fully fit and ready and not playing too many games we could get some good performances from him.
I love Coleman more than any other Everton player but to bench one of the most inform players when looking for a first win is just daft, makes absolutely no sense. Coleman can come in when performances dip as a sub or starter. Until then Patterson starts.

Exactly this. Its not about being dropped. It's a squad game and likes of Pattrrson still very young and learning.
He is young and learning, very quickly , in fact so much so that he has been one of the best performers. Keep the young man's confidence up and keep him starting unless his performances say otherwise. Love Coleman but he has to earn his place back and way too early in the season to be rotating for the sake of it to keep others match fit. Its about getting points on the table.

Moyes returning adds a bit of needle to this for the fans, should ensure the crowd being up for it from the start.

Get a good solid win here going into two winnable fixtures next up - Palace away and then United at home.

5 unbeaten atm win this then a poor start starts to look like a very good run of form, funny how narratives can change quickly

-----------------Begovic
Patterson Coady Tarkowski Mykolenko
---------------Gana
-----------Onana Iwobi
----Gordon-----Maupay-----Gray

Doubt DCL will come straight in, especially as he struggled for a while after injury last season, think Maupay will start. Rest of the side pretty much picks itself.

I'll be positive and say we'll get our first win on the board. 2-0 Maupay & Onana

Be interesting to hear if Dom is 'fully' fit again and, if so, does he start? I suspect he'll be on the bench though personally. Guess we may find out more tomorrow.

This team pretty much picks itself, doesn't it? which is a good thing.

Winning this one will be great - West Ham are getting to where we were under Moyes (best of the rest) and so we need to progress to start beating Newcastle, West Ham, Brighton, Wolves regularly before we start even dreaming about Europe.

Captain - i would hope it's one of the dads or even Onana as a bold choice!

And yes @Pazza especially with this mourning break and international break it'll give us confidence for all the work going on in training.

When Godfrey, Holgate, Mina are fit, who do you think are the top CBs?
My list of first choice onwards would be
1. Coady
2. Tarkowski
3. Godfrey
4. Mina
5. Holgate
6. Keane

Taking your starting XI plus a bench of the following when fit.
McNeil, Townsend, DCL, Coleman, 2 of those CBs, Davies, GK makes a decent squad now. Good enough to get up to top 10 comfortably (on paper) and then progress next year. Only thing is we don't have any game changers to add some electric pace or trickery.

totally agree building a decent squad. No need for 3 keepers on the bench soon to make the numbers up! We are missing that player with a killer pass. or atleast the vision of a James or the man who cant be named. Anyone know what is the current news on him. Bail ended June didnt it?
