Everton Youth Teams Thread

4-0 was final score

that score was made worst when you find out the leaders lost at spurs,so we would have been 4 points behind with game in hand,it stays 7 with game in hand

Onyekuru Named Talent Of The Year.

Everton forward Henry Onyekuru has been named Belgium's ‘Talent of the Year’ at The Golden Shoe Awards in Brussels.

The award picks out the brightest young player in the Belgian Jupiler League, with the Blues’ Onyekuru edging Wolfsburg’s former Oostende forward Landry Dimata, and KV Mechelen’s Hassane Bandé.

Onyekuru had a strong 2017 for, first, Eupen and then Belgian giants Anderlecht, whom he joined on loan soon after signing for Everton over the summer.

He netted on 24 occasions for the former in the 2016/17 campaign, and followed that up with a further 10 goals at Anderlecht until injury forced his early return to the Toffees.

Speaking about his award, Onyekuru said: “I want to thank everyone for their support in helping me win this award.

“I want to thank God for life and making me who I am today, and my family for always pushing me to get to this stage.

“I must also thank Aspire Academy for the help they gave me and for taking me to KAS Eupen.

“The fans of Eupen and Anderlecht have always been fantastic to me, and alongside my teammates and the staff, allowed me to win this award. Winning this accolade gives me confidence and inspires me to come back to the pitch as fast as I can.”

Had to do a double take there for a minute, I was getting confused with Steven Kinsella the other Irish lad who went to Dundalk on loan last season. Good luck to Sam Byrne, he’s not in our PL squad, contract up in June so unlikely to see him again, hopefully he can get a contract either Dundalk or another Irish club.

..the lad had a dreadful leg break, sounding very similar to that of Coleman and McCarthy. The luck of the Irish is certainly not appropriate for our contingent.

He got 23% of the votes to win it.
