probably break that, not to many score 4 goals a game 3 times already,2 of those 4s comming in league gamesProbably. I meant the individual amount though, simms surely must be on track for it
What I've seen of Bobby Carol he reminds me a bit of Liam Walsh, not in stature but in style. A proper midfield playmaker. Spots a pass brilliantly and is one of the reasons our front 3 in the U18s are so prolific. I'd love to know how many assists he's got this season. Don't think he's ever been part of the England set up but if these young lads carry on playing as well as they are at the moment it's only a matter of time before the likes of he, Johns and Simms get noticed. I think Gordon only got his first call up this season.I thought he was very impressive in his cameo appearance. It's difficult with Gordon, as he is probably only emulating what many of the younger lads (like Dowell) did before him in playing regularly for the reserves at 16/17. I think an important point though if how much harder it now is to break into the reserve team. Stubbs and then Unsworth have done a very good job improving the standard of that side from what was essentially a very young team that would play nice stuff but finish towards the bottom of the league to one that is the best under 23's side in the country. For Gordon to be getting game time in that context as regularly as he is is a great achievement. (As a slight aside I actually though John was more impressive than him in the cameo I saw, looked like he had a lot of pace from right back).
As for playing style, the Dowell shouts are fair. I'm not sure he has as good technique with his strong foot as Dowell had, or perhaps is quite as intelligent (though this is probably more a compliment of Dowell than taking away from Gordon).
He looks quicker to me though, over short and long distances and seems to have a better ability to make runs into the box and get on the end of things which is a bit better than Dowell.
A lot will depend on how he continues to grow and improve but he looks a very good talent for his age and it's clear they are aware of him.
I can see why many top teams want him. Fortunately we have a stable coach at 23's and a clear pathway for young players. This is important to bear in mind when people are often quite critical of younger players. The involvement of lads like Davies, DCL, Kenny etc will play a massive part in convincing subsequent players such as Gordon to stay. He can see that there are opportunities here. While I don't think it's certain he stays I'd be very surprised if he left and I think the club can feel very confident of that. It's a nice position to be in and a long way from many sides like Spurs, Arsenal, City, Liverpool and Chelsea where the same pathways don't exist and they have to likely make enormous offers to try and keep the players at the clubs.
It's interesting with Brewster, who Liverpool basically bought off to remain and he hasn't had any opportunity with their first team. I do think it affects performance giving too much too soon. Howard Kendall mentioned this as a key reason Cadamateri didn't fulfil his potential.
Either way I have little doubt Gordon will stay and he could be a terrific player if he continues his development. My favourite one to watch is actually Bobby Carrol.
Think he may have been referring to individual record rather than team record. Chelsea, as a team, have been prolific in the past so we'd do well to beat their best tally I think.without looking what it is,i bet we are going to break it easy lol
Nelson probably has a similar record at Arsenal, perhaps slightly ahead of Gordon maybe, and is a year older. Nobody would have thought he'd be starting games in the Bundesliga.Yes he is a regular and has been for months. BVB's U23 play in the German league pyramid so the level of football they are playing is superior to our U23s. Youngsters have a far quicker route to adult football in Germany than England. That's a fact mate, nothing ridiculous about it.
Phillips make it 4-0 on 48Make it a double on 30mins 2-0

Plus going by the man utd u18s managers comments that they have Everton inbetween 2 chelsea games, that to me makes it seem likes its been moved to the late midweek-but as said not 100% certain till its said etcShould make our FA Youth Cup game against Sunderland a formality ( eeek!) . SUnderland site has the Youth Cup game as next week, I’m assuming they’re wrong.
Exactly. If he'd stayed at Arsenal he'd be in their U23s with the odd league cup and europa league game.Nelson probably has a similar record at Arsenal, perhaps slightly ahead of Gordon maybe, and is a year older. Nobody would have thought he'd be starting games in the Bundesliga.
18s scoring some goals this season future looks bright
3 of them today12 for Philips and 11 assists for Carroll too is some going
It’s a real shame we can’t be arsed putting a commentary on the clips of the goals, only the goalscorer ‘s name, Carroll would be much more recognised by people then. Though his relatively small stature and regularly wearing number 8 means you can pick him out. While our strikers Simms, Adeydoyin and Phillips have been on fire this season, a lot of credit has to go to the regular midfielders of Carrol, Iverson and Mackenzie Hunt who have combined so well.12 for Philips and 11 assists for Carroll too is some going
